Multi-level marketing, or MLM, is a business setup that employs numerous agents for a variety of purposes. These purposes range from actual sales to simple testing. Let’s take a look at the many facets of MLM.
1. MLM for testing purposes. This setup promotes the diffusion of the manufacturer’s products to pinpoint any glitches or defects in the items that will be sold.
2. MLM for marketing research. This setup distributes the initial form of the product to test the demand and the reception for the same.
3. MLM for pricing. This setup helps determine the price range for the product, one which would ensure that the same would remain competitive without having to compromise the profit due to the manufacturer.
4. MLM for distribution. This setup ensures maximum coverage of the areas where the product would be apportioned.
5. MLM for advertising. MLM can also be used as a mighty word-of-mouth promotional vehicle by encouraging the agents to spread the word about the manufacturer’s products.
6. MLM for visual merchandising. The agents can also be used as walking billboards for the products, in such a way that would increase product visibility and usability.
7. MLM for actual sales. This is perhaps the most popular MLM model today. Agents are asked to sell the manufacturer’s products, and every customer they will be able to get would be their own agents. The first tier agents would receive a commission for every sale that would be generated from their customers. This down line” can extend several degrees.
How Could You Earn From MLM?
Earning from an MLM endeavor is quite easy. The first concept you have to learn about MLM is what many call as down line. Down line are the people you mange to refer to the MLM program. Every time a member of your down line would be able to sell the manufacturer’s product, you’d be able to earn a commission.
It goes without saying that the more members of your down line there are, the more you stand to earn from the MLM program.
MLM Is All About Networking
Coincidentally, MLM is also referred to as Network Marketing, because it makes good use of the agent’s established networks, as well as the networks he will be able to establish in the future. MLM is indeed all about networking. You would need to develop and master great interpersonal skills to be able to conquer the MLM game.
