Afraid Of MLM Programs?
Ewen Chia
In this day and age, whenever people would hear about multi-level marketing, or MLM as it is more popularly called, their minds fill up with much hesitance and wariness, and for good reasons at that. Throughout the years, MLM programs have been associated with pyramiding schemes, online scams and a cheap way of selling products. These have resulted in a rather negative perception of MLM programs in general.
But should all MLM programs be negatively perceived? Such would be quite unfortunate, as there are a lot of MLM programs that could promise, and fulfill, rewarding experiences that would enrich your lives with profit and satisfaction. Yes, such MLM programs exist, and such MLM programs can give you that much… if only you’d give them a try.
Demystifying The Negative Perceptions About MLM Programs: MLM Programs Are Not Scams
First and foremost, MLM programs are not scams. There are, of course, some rotten tomatoes here in there, in the form of unscrupulous entities portraying themselves to be MLM programs, when in truth and in fact, they are but some fly-by-night peddlers wanting to make a quick buck at your expense. But these frauds are prevalent in almost every industry, not just with MLM programs. The true MLM programs are founded on the principles of network marketing, where you will be tasked to sell, or otherwise pre-sell, the manufacturer’s products. Thereafter, you’d be able to earn some generous commission for every sale you’d manage to refer. It gets better, of course. MLM programs also allow you to build a down line, which is composed of the people whom you have previously referred, and who have joined the system. You will also earn commission, albeit proportionately reduced, for every sale they manage to refer. MLM programs are also great sources of residual income because of this setup.
Demystifying The Negative Perceptions About MLM Programs: MLM Programs Are Not Pyramiding Schemes
Secondly, MLM programs are not pyramiding schemes. Though similarities with the latter exist, it’s only because of the network marketing involved with both setups. MLM programs are forms of direct selling. You do not invest money. Rather, you purchase the manufacturer’s goods as a condition of your enrollment in the system. It’s a onetime purchase, and you won’t be required to make subsequent ones with MLM programs. Pyramiding schemes demand that you invest your money, in exchange for nothing except the promise that it would accumulate some interests over time. The difference between MLM programs and pyramiding schemes become as clear as day. MLM programs are about selling. Pyramiding schemes are about investing.
Demystifying The Negative Perceptions About MLM Programs: MLM Programs Are Illegal
Some quarters believe that MLM programs are illegal. But what’s illegal about direct selling? It’s a legitimate way of doing business on the manufacturer’s part, and it is a legitimate way of earning a living on the multi-level marketer’s side. MLM programs are perfectly within the confines of what the law prescribes. What makes people hesitant about their legality is, perhaps, the tremendous earning potentials of these MLM programs, which should be experienced to be believed.
